Not only will the Boston Pops be there, many guest musicians will as well
Tanglewood is the summertime home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, but several musicians and performers make guest appearances as well. This summer, these include Yo-Yo Ma, Diana Krall, the Mark Morris Dance Group, Garrison Keillor, James Taylor, Emerson String Quartet, Bernadette Peters, and the Wynton Marsalis Quartet.
Yo-Yo Ma will be here on June 22 and 24
World renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma returns to Tanglewood for two June performances with the Silk Road Ensemble. The performance will be held in Ozawa Hall and blend western and well as non-western instruments and traditions. Tickets are $20 to $99.
Is there dining anywhere at Tanglewood?
Yes, there are three dining options. The Tanglewood Café is situated between the Lion’s Gate and the Shed. The Tanglewood Grille is located next to Glass House 1 Gift Shop inside the Main Gate. Both are open before Shed concerts in the evening and remain open through intermission time. Another option is to order and purchase Meals-to-Go 72 hours in advance online or 48 hours in advance over the phone.
Is this an appropriate place to bring small children?
There are several programs appropriate for children at Tanglewood including scavenger hunts, free lawn tickets for those 17 and younger, children’s activities during weekend concerts, the Family Fun Fest on Jun 29, and the Family Concert on August 25. There’s also the Tanglewood on Parade August 7, an all-day event that culminates in an evening fireworks show.
