Norman Rockwell Museum. Norman Rockwell Museum houses the world's largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell art. Simon’s Rock College of Bard. Simon's Rock College of Bard is the nation's only college of the liberal arts and sciences designed expressly for high school students. The college, founded by Elizabeth Blodgett Hall, former headmistress of Concord Academy, enrolled its first students in 1966, and eventually became part of Bard College, a liberal arts college established in 1889 with a tradition of educational innovation. Lime Rock Park. Lime Rock Park Raceway is a classic 1.53-mile, 7-turn racecourse, nestled in the stunning Berkshire Mountains. The Mount. The Mount was the classical revival style home of Pulitzer-prize winning author Edith Wharton, who designed the house and gardens in 1902, based on her famous book, The Decoration of Houses (1897). The Mount is the only U.S. monument to Edith Wharton and offers a glimpse into her interests in architecture and design. The three acres of gardens were designed as an elegant series of outdoor rooms and planted with flowering shrubs and many varieties of native ferns that Wharton personally collected around the Berkshires. Hancock Shaker Village Opened to the public in 1961, Hancock Shaker Village takes you into the lives of the Shakers through vibrant programs, tours, exhibitions, and hands-on activities. This beautifully restored village, set on 1,200 acres of farm, woodland and pasture, is home to a premier collection of Shaker buildings and artifacts. Shaker furniture, crafts and household items are exhibited in 20 historic buildings, including the Round Stone Barn, the most widely recognized of all Shaker buildings. National Shrine of the Divine Mercy. Located on top of Eden Hill in Stockbridge, the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy was built between 1950 and 1960 by an Italian craftsman. Reminiscent of shrines found in Italy, the shrine’s warm colors, Italian statuary, intricate floral carvings, and polished marble are home to a Divine Mercy image, which is enthroned above the main altar. The National Shrine of the Divine Mercy is a Roman Catholic shrine dedicated to the mercy of God that attracts more than 50,000 pilgrims per year.
