- Catamount Ski Area. Catamount offers the most diverse ski trail network in the Berkshires, with wide, open trails, 32 runs and 119 acres. - Kennedy Park. Kennedy Park is a popular destination for hikers, skiers, dogs, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, offering visitors a large network of well-marked trails for hikers and bikers at all skill levels.
- Pittsfield State Forest. Pittsfield offers mountain bikers and casual bikers 30 miles of trails that pass by picturesque streams, waterfalls, rock formations, flora, and fauna, including 65 acres of wild azalea fields that bloom in June.
- Ashuwillticook Rail Trail. The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail is an 11-mile long paved trail that runs through the towns of Cheshire, Lanesborough and Adams, alongside Cheshire Lake and the Hoosic River and offering an easy walk, run or ride with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding area. Hiking. The Berkshire Mountains are a hiker’s paradise, offering fabulous scenery and a wide range of hiking and walking trails for hikers looking for anything from an easy day hike to a challenging overnight excursion
- Monument Mountain. Offering an easy, 2.5-mile hike for families, with stunning views, interesting rock formations, monuments, and historical information along the trail and at the trail’s summit.
- Ice Glen. This short walk takes hikers through a splendid gorge and featuring boulders, caves, ancient pines, and hemlock trees. The gorge seems to have been formed by flowing water, but no streams flow through the glen, making it a true curiosity. Visitors can learn the answers to the mystery of hoe the gorge was formed when they visit this interesting area.
- Bear Town State Forest. This easy trail is a great opportunity for observing wildlife and eventually leads to a beaver pond where you can enjoy watching the beavers work.
- Sages Ravine. With its myriad of waterfalls that tumble down a beautiful section of forest offers a peaceful way to enjoy the Berkshires. This unique area offers stretches of dark forest and steep hills that feels remote while still being close to town.
- Race Brook Falls. This spectacular waterfall cascades over three tiers of rock, spraying mist and creating wading pools surrounded by lush greenery in the middle of a serene forest. In the wintertime, the falls transform into an icy winter wonderland that is worth the trek.

- Bash Bish Falls. Known as one of the most spectacular waterfalls Massachusetts, Bash Bish Falls plummets through a series of impressive gorges, then cascades a full 80 feet into a shining pool of water below. The easy trail leading up to the falls runs along the river, adding interest and anticipation as it approaches the falls.
- Pittsfield State Forest. Offering picturesque streams, waterfalls, rock formations, flora, and fauna, including 65 acres of wild azalea fields that bloom in June, Pittsfield includes two camping areas, two picnic areas, a swimming beach, a fishing pond, and 30 miles of trails, including a mile paved trail that is popular with wheelchair-users and visitors looking for a smoother walking trail.
